Where Is Scott Minerd Family After His Death? 

At the time of his death, Scott Minerd was survived by his family members; his husband Eloy Mendez, and his nephew Matthew Kenneth Minerd. He married Eloy in 2017, in a private wedding and they were together until his death.   

As of now, his partner Mendez resides in California. He is an actor and producer. He has already worked in a number of movies and TV shows like Breed and Roses (2000), Price of Happiness, and The Last Ship as well. 

Where Does Minerd’s Nephew Live?  

His nephew Matthew now lives in Chalkhill, Pennsylvania. Born and raised in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Minerd is a scholar. He attended Connellsville Area Senior High School, followed by Saint Vincent College.

He also studied at the University of Oxford. The other colleges Matthew went to are the University of Notre Dame and the Catholic University of America.

At present, Minerd’s nephew works as a professor of Philosophy and Moral Theology at the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Ss. Cyril and Methodius.  

Besides, Matthew was close to his late uncle Scott. Back in June 2012, the professor shared a photo of his uncle from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on his Facebook.   

Scott Minerd Parents Are Also Dead  

Talking about Scott Minerd’s family members, the late chief officer was the son of Byron K. Minerd and Carol Lee Minerd. Unfortunately, both of his parents are no more in this living world. 

His late father Byron, born on May 19, 1933, in Connellsville passed away on 20th May 2011. He was 78 years old at the time of his passing. 

Scott’s dad was a graduate of Connellsville High School and then went to Waynesburg College. Besides, Byron was a Korean War veteran. He later worked for CSX Railroad for several decades. 

On the other hand, Scott’s mother Carol died two years after her husband Byron’s passing on 7th July 2013 in West Palm Beach, Florida. At the time of her death, her son Scott and her grandson were at her bedside. 

Born on 26th August 1935, Carol Lee was 77 at that time. Besides, Minerd’s late mother attended South Union Township High School. She was, in fact, still a teenager at the time of her marriage to the love of her life Bryon.

As for her profession, Carol was a fierce bridge competitor. 

Scott Minerd Family In Detail (Maternal and Paternal Grandparents)

Scott’s grandparents from his father’s side were Albert and Ada Whipkey Minerd. On the other hand, his maternal grandparents were Shelby Mitchell and Rogene “Kitty” (Fleming) Mitchell.

Shelby was a renowned businessman who was in charge of local coal mines. Further, her great-grandparents from his mother’s side were Tilghman Mitchell and Cora Lee Jackson.
