The erstwhile NBA star, Adam Morrison is battling type-1 diabetes since he was a teenager. Morrison was 13 years old when he was diagnosed with the disease. Due to this, he frequently had to check his glucose level during games while he was playing for college.

The disease often sapped his energy during the games which didn’t cause many difficulties during his college days, however, after he started playing in the NBA, its 82-game schedule became too much for him.

To make it worse, Morrison suffered an ACL tear in his left knee in October 2007, which sidelined him for one whole year. Even after recovery, he couldn’t return back to what he was before, which forced him to hang up his boots at 28.
