Carter’s father, Bob died on May 16, 2017, at 65. A day after his death, Virginia’s younger half-sibling Nick Carter took to his Twitter to announce the news. He wrote, “I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night.” Nick further added,

As reported Leslie, who had complained of not feeling well in the shower, was found unresponsive afterward. She reportedly fell asleep after falling in the shower and never woke up. Leslie was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, New York where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

As for the cause of her death, she had been taking medications olanzapine, cyclobenzaprine, and alprazolam and she suffered an overdose. She was married to her then-husband Mike Ashton for three years at the time of her death. Besides, she also had a 10-month-old daughter, Allysa Jane.

Following her death, a representative for Carters released a statement saying:

“Our family is grieving right now, and it’s a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter.”

More than ten years after Leslie’s death, Virginia Carter lost her younger brother, Aaron Carter. Aaron passed away at his home in Lancaster, California on November 5, 2022, at 34. The rapper’s housekeeper found him unconscious in his bathtub. An autopsy was performed, however, the cause of his death was not revealed publicly.

Aaron was cremated on 9th November, and his ashes were handed over to his twin sister, Angel.
