Jeannette Minnoch first gained prominence as the first wife of Jon Brower Minnoch. Her ex-husband was the heaviest recorded human in history. Unfortunately, the couple divorced a few years after their marriage, and she has since maintained complete privacy when it comes to her life.
Well, what is she doing now? Let’s talk about some interesting facts about her.
Jeannette Minnoch Is Native To Seattle
Minnoch was born on June 28, 1944, as Carole Jean McCardle to mother Edna McCardle and Father Kannyan McCardle. Carole, who we know as Jeannette Minnoch, was born in West Seattle alongside her siblings. She had 4 siblings, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Her brother’s names were Dave and Joe McCardle, while her sisters were Joan Lanning and Sally Jones.
When Jeannette was 8 years old, her family moved to Bainbridge Island, which is in Washington. It was in Bainbridge that she completed her university studies in 1962.
Minnoch’s Marriage to Jon Brown Minnoch.
Jeannette got her last name, Minnoch, from her marriage to Jon Brown Minnoch. The couple was married on June 8, 1963, when Jeannette was just 19 years of age and Jon was 21. The former couple settled in Bainbridge Island and operated Bainbridge Island Taxi Co. together. There isn’t much information about the business, as it seems not to exist anymore.
Jeannette And Jon Made a Record For Their Weight Disparity
Jeannette and Jon were a dynamic couple, as the weight difference between the two was drastic. It was so drastic that it broke the record for the greatest weight disparity between a married couple.
It was evident that the relationship between the two wouldn’t last long, as the couple decided to part ways on March 24, 1980. Additionally, the couple has two sons together named John and Jason Minnoch. Jon, just two years later in 1982, married Shirley Ann Griffen.
Jon Brower Minnoch Was The Heaviest Recorded Human In History
You might be familiar with this, but Jon was one of the heaviest humans ever recorded. He was born on September 29, 1941. The highest weight he recorded was 1400 lb (635 Kilograms).
Jon has been obese since his childhood and just at the age of 12, he weighed 133 kilograms. Minnoch was usually around 800-900 lb (363-408 kilograms) and was 6ft 1 in height.
He had a condition which was known as massive edema, which eventually led him to be bedridden. In fact, he was hospitalized for two years and was put on a 1,200 kcal (5,000 kJ) diet.
He weighed 476 lb (216 kg) when he was discharged from the hospital, having shed 924 lb (419 kg), the biggest human weight reduction ever reported at the time. “I’ve waited 37 years for this chance at a new life,” he said, hoping to ultimately achieve a weight of roughly 210 lb (95 kg). Despite this, he quickly began to gain weight again.
Her Ex-Husband Jon Brower’s Death
He was readmitted to the hospital a little over a year later, in October 1981, when his weight had climbed to 952 lb (432 kg) in just seven days. Jon passed away 23 months later on September 4, 1983, at the age of 41. He weighed 798 lb (362 kg) at the time of his death.
According to his death certificate, he died of heart arrest, with respiratory failure and restrictive lung disease also contributing. He was buried in a wooden coffin lined with fabric and constructed of 34-inch (20 mm) thick plywood. The coffin took up two cemetery spaces, and it took about 11 men to transfer his casket to Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Jeannette Was Remarried
After the death of her husband, she moved to Port Orchard, where she again found love in Roger Bennett. They married on May 10, 1997, and spent the rest of their lives together. Jean, while in Port Orchard, was a member of two bowling leagues at High Joy Bowl. She would collect and provide cosmetics and toiletries to the shelter for victims of domestic violence, together with the members of the league.
Jean was loved when she was with Rogers, as he would take part in things she loved doing. Jean found satisfaction in collecting her own, Pillsbury Dough Boy, Coca-Cola, and Elvis Presley’s memorabilia. The very thing she loved doing was camping and fishing with her husband, Roger Bennet.
