    The 66 year-old, Michael, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for the case of child exploitation according to the U.S Attorney’s Office. He was accused of being engaged in a sexual conversation with a minor in March of 2021.

    Nastu was involved with the zoning department of Bridgeport, as well as being an Easton school food service team member. Nastu’s involvement in such heinous activity was totally unacceptable and soon followed by legal action.

    According to the details of the case, Michael, it all started in March 2021, when he first sent a text to an account on Kik, a social media platform. The respondent on the other side of the account was a cover-up FBI agent, posing as a 14-year-old minor.

    The two had a conversation for nearly a month, which escalated to a highly sexual conversation led solely by Nastu. He sent pictures and videos of himself, which included male genitalia and vulgar text the pretending minor.

    Michael also asked the child for pornographic pictures and had conversations about meeting and being engaged in sexual activities. Despite this, he never met the victim in person.

    When Was Michael Nastu Arrested?

    Being under supervised conversation with a minor for more than a month, Nastu officially got into custody. The arrest was made by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New Haven Division on 30 June 2021.

    The case against the abuser was registered by the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Leonard C Boyle. After more than a year of being accused of child abuse, Michael pleaded guilty in court on September 22, 2023.

    Nastu’s Sentence and Release Details

    After Michael accepted being indulged in online grooming and exploitation with minors, he was sentenced to a punishment of 18 months, according to Venessa Roberts, a U.S. attorney. Following this, he will also have to serve three years under supervision.

    As of 2023, Michael was released on the bond of $100,000 and had to report to the court on March 13.

    Michael has Left The Bridgeport Zoning Board

    Nastu has been serving as the appointed zoning member since May 2020. After the accusation, he resigned from the Bridgeport Zoning Board of Appeals on September 29, 2021.

    Along with this, Michael was also thrown out of the team of food service employees of Easton School soon after his arrest. As of present, he is living a very quiet life.
