Rubenfeld, the other four volunteer pilots, and the other mechanics are widely thought to have influenced the direction of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
The War hero returned to America injured and later got married to his Judy Rubenfeld. Milton died in his home in Sarasota on February 21, 2004, at the age of 84.
