Lightning Strike Injures 26 Soccer Players In Germany, Temporarily Killing One
Last weekend a major mishap occurred during a soccer match between teenagers in Ingoldingen, Germany. When the teenagers were warming up for the match a freak storm sent lightning crashing down onto the ground injuring numerous of these future soccer stars.
According to reports, a total of 26 players were injured with three being severely hurt by the lightning who were reportedly standing close to the fence, which helped the lightning to travel. Moreover, a 17-year-old boy, Rolf Baader was actually dead for some time. As soon as help arrived, they took him to the nearest hospital via helicopter and the doctors at the institute were able to resuscitate him back to life by performing CPR.
A local policeman, Baden Wurttemberg said, “No-one could have expected what happened, as it had started to drizzle slightly, but there was no storm to be heard or seen in the sky.”
Initially, only a couple of players were warming up before the lightning struck.
