Laurie Weiskopf

Laurie Weiskopf is an American real estate worker who works as a sales associate at PureWest Christie’s at Black Bull Bozeman and Russ Lyon’s Sotheby’s International Realty. Besides Laurie is most famously known as the wife of late American professional golfer Thomas Daniel Weiskopf aka Tom Weiskopf. Tom is one of the most successful golfers of all time who won 16 PGA Tour titles between 1968 and 1982.
Laurie and Tom were married for more than two decades before the latter’s death in 2022. Even though Tom was a renowned athlete, he remained out of the media radar most of the time following his retirement. Ergo, pretty little about Laurie Weiskopf is known until the date.

Weiskopf has been working in real estate for over two decades. According to her LinkedIn profile, she has worked for more than ten business organizations so far. At the beginning of her career, she worked as a director of institutional services at Fargo Clinic from 1981 to 1983.
Following that, Laurie worked in the management department at General Mills Restaurant Group for six years until 1989. Afterward, she worked at America West Airlines for three and a half years before she joined America West Arena as a director of suite services.
From February 1995 to October 1997 Laurie Weiskopf worked as a special events director at Arizona Cardinals. After leaving the Cardinals, she joined Insight as a director of corporate sponsorships and worked there for over six years.
Laurie started working as a realtor back in 2010 at Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty and she is still working for the organization. In 2012, she also worked for Glacier Sotheby’s International Realty for around six months.

Laurie Weiskopf’s Married Life – Do they Have Children?
Laurie and Tom started dating in the late 1990s and reportedly got married in 1999. However, their wedding date is not been officially verified as of yet. Laurie was married to Tom for more than thirty years and the pair didn’t have any children from their marriage.

As they say, Laurie was with her husband Tom through thick and thin. She lived her best time with Tom in the early years of their marriage while she was a great support for her husband during his last couple of years when he battled pancreatic cancer.
Her Husband, Tom Weiskopf Died in 2022
Tom, the 16 times PGA Tour-winning golfer passed away at his home in Big Sky, Montana on August 20, 2022, aged 79. Tom died of pancreatic cancer he had been battling since 2020. Tom’s fellow golfer Tom Watson announced the news in a tweet where he also extended his condolences to the Weiskopf family.

Around a week before his death, he was working at The Club at Spanish Peaks and also attended a legacy luncheon at the signature club revealed Laurie Weiskopf.
His Battle with Pancreatic Cancer
Tom Weiskopf was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2020. Soon after his diagnosis, the former British Open champion began his first chemotherapy treatment. Following the diagnosis, Tom said,
“My stomach is a little queasy but I don’t feel nauseous and haven’t thrown up or anything. I did see a few guys who did.”
Tom reportedly experienced a sharp pain in his stomach while he was in Scottsdale, Arizona and he underwent CT Scan as soon as he returned home in Montana. The scan revealed a lesion in his pancreas.

Later, Laurie and her late husband went to Miami for tests, including genetic and biomarker tests. The diagnosis came a couple of days later and within a few days, Tom started chemotherapy. Laurie said,
“It was a wild ride and not one I would wish on anyone. We started chemo before we could even take a breath.”
“You’re frightened and not able to be with your loved one and you’re having these life-and-death conversations on the phone during tests and appointments” Laurie added.
Her Late Husband was Married Previously
While Laurie was only married once to her late husband Tom, Tom himself was married previously. The late golfer was married to Jeanne Weiskopf who was the Miss Minnesota 1965. The former husband and wife got married in 1966, a year later she became Miss Minnesota.
Tom and Jeanne gave birth to two children; daughter Heidi (b 1971) and son Eric (b 1973). The pair loved being outdoors and they raised their kids to appreciate sunlight and moonlight. Moreover, the family of four also enjoyed golf matches.
Tom and Jeanne were married for over three decades before their relationship turned sour in the mid-1990s. And the former pair ultimately got a divorce in 1999.
