    Reubens died on July 30, 2023, at the age of 70, following severe hypoxic respiratory failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He had both myelogenous leukemia and metastatic lung cancer at the time of his death. He had been diagnosed six years prior, but had not made his condition public.
