    Yes, Warren Jeffs is still in jail. He is now serving life imprisonment at the Louise C. Powledge Unit in Palestine, Texas. He was sentenced to life in jail in August 2011 with an additional 20 years on his sentence for sexually assaulting two underage followers whom the polygamist took as his wives. Furthermore, Jeffs was fined $10,000 for his crimes. 

    Although Warren stood down as president of the FLDS Church in November 2007, many of the church’s current followers still consider Jeff as both their leader and seer.

    Following Warren’s permanent imprisonment, they even continue to show their immense support via several campaigns and chantings for his release. 

    In 2007, the FLDS leader also tried to commit suicide while in jail in Utah. For his treatment, Warren was taken to a hospital, in Las Vegas, Nevada from the Mohave County, Arizona jail in Kingman, Arizona in July 2008.

    In April 2006, Utah released an arrest warrant for polygamy leader Warren Jeffs on multiple charges of accomplice rape of an underaged girl. A month later, Jeffs was included on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List too. 

    Warren was finally arrested by police in Las Vegas in August 2006 and sent back to Utah to face two first-degree felony charges of accomplice rape. He was also accused of arranging a marriage between a 14-year-old girl and a 19-year-old guy. 

    In Sept 2007, Warren was found guilty of two counts of rape as an accomplice and then given 10 years to life in prison. However, in 2010, the Utah Supreme Court overturned the verdict because of flawed jury instructions.
